CHILDREN OF WAR FOUNDATION
MIDDLE EAST, NORTH AFRICA OUTREACH
1
Global Health
While deploying teams for emergency response provides relief for certain critical needs, and sponsoring local clinicians to study abroad can help, we have shifted our programmatic focus towards augmenting existing healthcare and educational infrastructures, where support beyond utilization of foreign intervention has been overlooked. Over years we have recruited, trained, educated and mentored local clinicians in the MENA region so that we can call on them to provide care in absence of outside help.
2
Education
Physical healing is just the beginning. By nourishing the minds of the future, we can forestall many issues that lead to global conflict. Our education programs are ongoing initiatives that aim to bring learning opportunities to the next generation.
As non-citizens, refugees typically do not have regular access to local public education. Today, with not having enough schools to serve growing populations, and or school closures becoming routine due to pandemics, climate change, and economic instability, digital education is becoming an accepted norm. In a first-of-its-kind project in Jordan, with our EdTech partner Abwaab, we are giving children of displaced and marginalized families access to accredited public education via an online learning platform that conform to the local public school curriculum.
3
Capacity Building
It is only through financial support that we are able to expand our team, recruit local expertise, and strengthen capacity building to further our reach, uplift lives, and ensure COWF sustainability.
As we work towards increasing our impact we count on the support of participating corporations, major and official supporters to help reach our goals and scale our mission.
