CHILDREN OF WAR FOUNDATION’S SCHOOL OF DREAMS

SERVING OVER 300 FAMILIES

Located in the Sabha district, the SOD serves over 300 displaced families, offering their children a safe learning environment, an accredited teacher, and essential educational tools and materials. The school emphasizes academic excellence and life values such as honesty, transparency, and self-development.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Empowering Young Learners

Children from nearby communities receive foundational education in Math, Arabic, English, writing, and science, all under the guidance of dedicated teachers.

Outreach and Support

COWF field coordinators conduct weekly visits to foster effective communication with the local community, ensuring their essential humanitarian needs are met.

Weather-Resilient Learning Environments

Funding supports facility maintenance in extreme weather conditions, including summer heat and frigid winters. This ensures the provision of heating, water, and other essential necessities, keeping the School Of Dreams dry, warm, and cool throughout seasonal changes. Additionally, it reduces the number of children affected by weather-related conditions, which can exacerbate already fragile health situations in some cases.

PROGRAM DEMOGRAPHICS

School of Dreams

The School of dreams is home to over 80 students who are located along the Jordanian Syrian border, within Jordan, in an area characterized by isolated encampments. Access to water, electricity, and proper housing is scarce.

Gender Distribution and Nationalities

Our students in the School of Dreams represent countries from Syria and Jordan, all of whom lack access to proper education or support without this program.

Special Needs Accommodation

Some of the students in our program have medical disabilities, including being hard of hearing, which challenge their ability to learn in traditional school environments.
